Jesuit, professor, and military chaplain. Geary, born in South Boston in 1905, entered the Society of Jesus in 1925. He earned a B.A. (1931) and M.A. (1932) from Boston College. Geary was ordained at Weston College (1937). He became a professor at Boston College in 1941. Geary was a chaplain in the United States Army (1944-1946); as such, he was assigned to Camp Croft, South Carolina, and to the 115th Station Hospital in Europe.
